Enola Holmes' producers have responded to the lawsuit that has been filed against the Millie Bobby Brown-starring Netflix movie.

The Conan Doyle Estate has filed a lawsuit claiming copyright infringement and trademark violations against a number of parties, including Netflix, production company Legendary Pictures, book publishers Penguin Random House and others, including book author Nancy Springer.

The lawsuit centres around the portrayal of the character of Sherlock Holmes, played by Henry Cavill in the movie, with the lawsuit alleging that the version of the character presented in the film resembles the Sherlock featured in Conan Doyle's final 10 stories, in which the detective became "warmer" and showed more empathy toward others.

While most Sherlock Holmes stories have been in the public domain since 2014, the copyright for the final 10 stories, written between 1923 and 1927, is still owned by the Conan Doyle Estate.

This movie is about Enola Holmes not Sherlock which was only a minor role so i dont really see what their problem is , sour grapes and want a part of the profits probably .

The greed for profits is self-evident here!  It is a travesty that they can still hold copyrights almost 100 years old.
