I want to build a brick BBQ. Does anyone know where to get heat resistant bricks. Guess you need them to do this.

I supposed it depends where you are. I bought some in our soi, 200 bricks for about 90 baht (I think I gave the delivery man 10 baht as a tip ). Ours aren't special or heat proof but they do the job really well.

It would interest me to know if anyone has any experience in building

one of these as I need one doing.

Hi there, ideally you need refractory brick or fire brick. Normal house brick will crack and break up with the heat.

Suggest you contact The Siam Refractory Industry Co. Bangkok 02 586 3251 or Patra Refractory Co. Saraburi 036 379358. They should have agents in most big towns who can supply these basic fire bricks.

Will get on to them. have seen some designs on the net so when i get the bricks, I will have a bash at making one.
