* Required documents to apply STV visa (You need to prepare all documents 2 set)
1. Visa Application form + Photo (35mm X 45mm) (two copies)
2. Passport (valid date more than 1 year from departure date)
3. Copy of passport (two copies)
4. Bank Statement which shows more than 20,000,000won for last 6 months from submission date (two copies)
ex) If you submit the documents 3rd Nov., you need to prepare bank statement on the date of 2nd May, 2nd June, 2nd July, 2nd August, 2nd September, 2nd October, 2nd November
or Proof of condominium ownership in Thailand (two copies)  
or Proof of purchase of condominium in Thailand which shows not less than 25% of the full amount has been paid(two copies)
(Please prepare just one document among No.4)
5. Evidence of accomodation that applicant will stay after quarantine 14days (two copies) 
(If you submit hotel reservation, it show more than 90 nights at the hotel.)
6. Two copies of additional health insurance plans : The applicant must be medically insured for the entire period of stay in Thailand with the following coverage : 
- Outpatient benefit with a sum insured of not less than 40,000 THB ; and
- Inpatient benefit with a sum insured of not less than 400,000 THB
** (The applicant must submit the original iunsurance policy document, either from a foreign insurance company or a Thai insurance company with two copies. A list of Thai insurance companies participating in the scheme is available at : http://longstay.tgia.org
7. Declaration form (two copies)
8. Flight ticket (Please check Repatriation Flight before buying ticket. / One-way or roundtrip flight ticket all available.)
9. ASQ hotel reservation (two copies) (You can check the list of ASQ hotel through this link :  www.hsscovid.com)
10. Health insurance which covers cost of Covid-19 more than 10,000usd) (two copies)
 
STV Visa application fee is 100,000 won.
 
American passport holder also can apply stv visa at Royal Thai Embassy, Seoul.

Yep sure. If you have the bank statement showing KRW 20 million (about USD 17000) consistently held in your bank account for the past 6 months.

Beijing has basically the same requirements with one small exception:

#5 -  I needed to show only 75 days hotel accommodation at hotel after ASQ hotel. ASQ hotel 15 days + subsequent hotel 75 days = 90 days visa entry

On another note; if you show a copy of a lease for a condo that you intend to stay in after the ASQ hotel, they will possibly ask for a copy the Landlord's ID card and his tax ID number. My landlord understandably refused with the tax ID number. So, I used Agoda to book a hotel. Agoda has useful policies......

Would it have to be in Korea for 6 months or could it be a combo of America and Korea? They just want to know you are flush.

as per the email  I recieved  american passport holder can apply STV in Seoul thai embassy  -  No need to be a korean citizen or permanet resident .  

But I would suggest to please contact  seoul rte   for confirming.

It's on their website as the very first requirement to apply there.  Maybe the person who sent the email had limited english and misunderstood the question.

Royal Thai embassy in Korea is no longer checking 1.1.5. item.

No bank statement required.

Thai Embassy information has not been updated yet.
