Nationwide state of emergency over Covid-19 to be extended to mid January

The Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) on Wednesday resolved to extend the emergency decree nationwide from December 1 to January 15, 2021, in a bid to curb infections.

 

However, CCSA has yet to decide whether the quarantine period for those entering Thailand should be reduced from 14 days to 10 days.

 

Dr Taweesin Visanuyothin, CCSA spokesman, said further discussion is needed and the centre should make a final decision on the matter in the next three to four weeks.

The state of emergency will be extended again and again and again, until one day eventually this government of dinosaurs will be forced out, whenever that will happen. The state of emergency has nothing to do with Covid anyway.

When I see how the situation situation in Europe deteriorated, in no time at all, I can only approve. Also, I have just spent a few days in Bangkok, outside of the Sukhumvit area, and could observe that most Bangkokians keep abiding by social distancing, mask wearing, etc.. recommendations. There are a few idiots with the mask under their nose but otherwise the people appear prepared for a new onslaught if it were to happen. This is exactly what the Europeans have failed to do during the summer.

What infections, the ones in quarantine?  They have already stated that the Covid Asymptomatic folks found in the public did not pass it on to anyone else.  Oh who to believe, who to believe.  Anutin has it well under control, so what more can we want....yes deep sarcasm.  BTW, the use of the emergency decree has not deterred the protestors from violating the Governments ban on large groups now has it, so what can't they do if they do away with the emergency decree and just use the Public Health law they also strengthened.  Are they afraid to give Anutin more power.

So the hotel people can ask all they like...SOE is here till the end of January...any tourist related business still in business at the end of January must have deep pockets 

Everybody knows, this isn't about Covid.Should Thailand have Italy's or Austria's numbers, what would have Thai Government done?

 

For Thai Government is a win-win situation...They sell this idea of pure Thailand(despire very low testing numbers) to a deeply indoctrinated thai majority, in order to make them forget the real problems and, of course, they use the pandemic to control the people.

 

In my opinion, as encouraging news about vaccines emerge almost every day, quarantine will not be reduced.

any countries have now introduced a six day quarantine as new technology can identify suspected carriers earlier and quicker.

Just to help quell the protests, this has nothing to do with any Covid infections as we are told they are all in quarantine and under control.

From an uncorroborated source where I live outside of Thailand, look to June 2021 for possible "relaxations" within the region. Sorry, I am not able to answer further questions on this.
