Duh! Thief didn't think he'd be seen stealing two year old's tablet - caught on CCTV everywhere

A thief who stole a two and a half year old girl's tablet at a gas station told the cops he didn't think he would be seen.

Video footage retrieved by mother Montha and taken to the Na Jomtien police showed 38 year old Pattanakiat having his car washed, taking the tablet and getting into his Suzuki.

The evidence was clear and damning and soon after a Facebook post and the police investigation the thief was in custody.

Montha had been at a Shell gas station in the Na Jomtien jurisdiction when her daughter's 5,000 baht Samsung tablet was lifted from a table.

The little one got her tablet back from the police.

While the thief admitted everything and was charged with theft.

Scum.

That said, it’s surprising how openly many people in Thailand leave valuable items lying about.

I see so many women, handbags wide open, purses and phones readily accessible by pick-pockets etc.

It really is a testament to Thailand that there is very little pickpocketing, snatch and grab etc.. South America an area’s of Europe are terrible for this. Thailands lack of this sort of crime really does lend to a the idea that we are in a far safes country, which is probably an accurate assessment.

Except on the roads.  Chonburi has now reached the top spot in the league of most dangerous counties in Thailand - a tribute to the local BIB.

Am I alone in wondering why a two-year-old needs a tablet?

And what kind of parent gives it one?

A kind of parent that can't be asked to play normal educational games with their kids, like colored blocks with ABC/123 etc. and can't put their own phone down for a while.
