Annual Extension for Retirement & Dependent Question

Featured Replies

Am I right in thinking that there is a grace period when renewing annually.  I seem to recall there was/is though never had to use such an option before.  (Our expiry date is 23 December.)

Thanks in anticipation.

If it's a few days past 23/Dec they might let you pay overstay and renew your extension.

Why allow permission of stay to run out

There is no grace period for a extension of stay application. After the day it expires you will be on a overstay.

Most offices will allow you to apply after you pay the 500 baht a day overstay fine if only a few days late.

It would be a good idea to tell foreigners they are welcome if immigration automatically extended 1 year extension for an extra one year. It would make it easier to get them all back when covid-19 crisis is over

But they would probably don't even think of it. Those whose extension expires when they are abroad lose everything and will have to ask for a new visa with all the paperwork the day when they will want to come back.
