Which portal for COE?

Featured Replies

https://coethailand.mfa.go.th/ vs.https://thaiembdc.org/onlinevisaapplication/

Confused about which portal to use for COE application. One first, then the next?

Also confused why "Diplomats and and International Organizations" is the only option in the drop-down menu for "Types of permitted persons" who are non-Thai nationals.

Thanks in advance.

So one says "Diplomats and and International Organizations" and one does not, correct? As an american who is not one of those special cases I used thaiembdc.org and I received a COE yesterday. Some other countries I believe have switched over to using coethailand.mfa.go.th .

You will use the online application that is on the embassy in Washington DC's website.

They will send the application to the consulate that will issue it dependent upon which state you are in unless within the embassy's area of responsibility.

"Details of contact person in Thailand" is required on the DC COE application for non-O retirement entry. How to complete this if one has no ties inside the country at present? Name, address, nationality, date of birth, cell phone, email all required. Maybe ask the ASQ hotel to kindly offer a contact person?
