Checking for changes

Featured Replies

It is that time of the year and I will be off to Bangkok immigration in a day or two for my annual visa extension. As I haven't been on the forum for a wee while and covid still doing it's thing I thought I would check with all you gurus out there to see if there have been any recent changes to the procedure or  anything else that I should be aware of before I go.

Thanks for your time and effort chaps and chapesses.

What type of extension will you be applying for?

For most of them there have been no changes.

One positive change is that you can now make an appointment.

Thanks Ubonjoe, a bit remiss of me not to give full info. My visa is non O retirement.

I wasn't aware of the appointment system so will have a look at that and meanwhile ask others if anyone has any experience of it. Does it actually work I wonder. Any comments or info gratefully received. Cheers.

I used the appointment for annual extension retirement in October. Works a treat. 100% recommend you make an appointment. You book a slot. I took 10.45am so I could obtain bank letter and make small deposit downstairs at bank. Went to my L # which is on your confirmation of booking (that comes via email minutes after making booking). No need to go to desk for you queue ticket.

I was there 10 minutes early and imm officer saw me straight. We were done in minutes then out from desk to wait for pp return. Brilliant.

Make sure you take along your printout of booking. If you prefer you can go downstairs  to the photo/photocopy stall. You forward your email to them and they print it out. 5baht

Thanks DrJack. After reading what Ubonjoe wrote I followed the link and tried out the booking system. Already done for Thursday 10:15, booking receipt received, printed, and sitting next to me and the bank letter gets done tomorrow morning at my local branch 5 minutes walk away. Never a problem there. Just show them last years and ask for a new one and they always have it done in a few minutes.

Nice to know the booking system works so thanks for that confirmation. Hopefully my morning will go as smoothly as yours.

Cheers.
