Re-entry permits

Featured Replies

Currently have 'under consideration' ongoing on a marraige extension.

How do the re-entry permits work, before i leave i must get one from local immigration office?

- how long does this take?

- how much does this cost?

- if i get a multiple re-entry, is there a limit on entries or not ( same as non O visa, no limits? )

Thank you.

A Re-Entry Permit keeps the permission-to-stay date based on the extension of your Non Imm O marriage Visa  'alive' when exiting Thailand.  Without such a Re-Entry Permit your permission-to-stay will be voided when exiting Thailand.  So if it's worthwhile to protect the remaining days on that permission-to-stay when planning to exit Thailand, you should buy such a Re-Entry Permit prior to leaving the country.

This can be done at any IO as well as in the departure halls of the main Thai international airports, and they are delivered on the spot with a Re-Entry Permit stamp in your passport.

A Single-Entry Re-Entry Permit costs 1.000 THB.

A Multiple-Entry Re-Entry Permit costs 3.800 THB.  With current entry-restrictions (e.g. the mandatory 15-days quarantaine) it is recommended to opt for a Single-Entry Re-Entry Permit, as the Multiple-Entry one needs at least 4 entries before it becomes worthwhile to opt for it and with current re-entry restrictions you would almost certainly not make full use of it.

Excellent, thanks for that, understood.
