Hello,

I plan to go to Thailand with my kid on "non-B" (and "non-O"?) visa, visit international schools there and then enroll in one of them. I assume my kid would need to change to "non-ED" status and I need to change to "non-O" based on my kid's education status.

Someone told me that it's ok to change from "non-B"/"non-O" to "non-ED" status within the country, but I cannot change from "non-B" to "non-O" status. Is that true?

What visa should I enter Thailand with to carry out my plan. I don't want to leave Thailand and enter again due to the travel restrictions.

Thanks in advance.

It is not possible to change non immigrant visa categories within the country.

You can apply for a extension of stay at immigration if you have a non immigrant visa.

A non-b visa is for working or conducting business. Are you going to be doing that.

If you enrolled you child in a formal school before arriving here they could apply for a non-ed visa and you a non-o visa for being their parent.

Is it possible to change reason for extension of stay from employment to retirement.

Scenario:   Expat enters on Non-Imm B, and works with work permit.  After several annual extensions, finishes job and converts reason for extension of stay from employment to retirement, assuming all financial requirements for retirement extension met.
