Thailand confirms 81 new coronavirus infections

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand confirmed 81 new coronavirus infections on Friday, of which nine were imported from abroad, the public health ministry said.

(Reuters) -A recording from a recreational vehicle emitted a chilling warning minutes before it all exploded, rocking downtown Nashville at dawn on Christmas Day and lightly injuring three people in what police described as an "intentional act."

Russia jails historian for 12.5 years for grisly murder of student lover

MOSCOW (Reuters) - A Russian court sentenced a distinguished historian known for re-enacting Napoleonic battle scenes to 12.5 years in jail on Friday after convicting him of the murder of his young student lover, whom he dismembered.

Government House on alert after 6 officials test positive

Six officials in the Prime Minister’s Office at Government House have tested positive for Covid-19 after random screening of its 700 staff. The six positive results came from the first batch of 350 staff whose saliva was screened with rapid test kits. The second batch will be tested on Monday.

Samut Sakhon field hospital ‘necessary’, insists minister

PM2.5 levels exceed safe levels in several areas of Bangkok

Air pollution exceeded safe levels in 13 spots in Bangkok, with records at 7am showing the range of PM2.5 dust particles in the capital and its vicinity at between 35 to 57 micrograms per cubic metre (μg/m3).

SET surges more than 2% for second day in a row

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) Index closed at 1,486.31 on Friday, up 34.79 points or 2.40 per cent. Total transactions amounted to Bt88.24 billion with an index high of 1,486.84 and a low of 1,462.77. The SET rose more than 2 per cent for the second successive day after gaining more than 2.37 per cent on Thursday.

Myanmar man’s pilot fantasy doesn’t fly
