BANGKOK, Dec 25 (TNA) – A deputy commissioner of the Royal Thai Police Office admitted that migrant-smuggling networks existed and police were investigating their illicit business.

Pol Gen Damrongsak Kittiprapat said human-smuggling mainly happened through the border in Kanchanaburi, Chiang Rai, Tak, Chanthaburi and Trat provinces.

Police were gathering evidence but existing information had not determined if any government officials were involved, he said.

There, fixed it for you.

The slave trade is alive and well in Thailand! Well at least the rich are well protected! The army is good for something! :jap:

Strange that only now he comes out with this revelations, something that has been known for many years as there are many gangs of smugglers of all things and all types, nothing new here...

Step One has been taken, very good.

Step Two is admitting that corrupt officials are a vital part of the smuggling rings. I think Prawit should do that.

'police were investigating their illicit business. '

Well it shouldn't take long then, just call the boys in for an interview

Talk about stating the obvious!

It is astonishing how short memories are on here and in Thailand as the Navy and Army have been caught dealing in slaves. Wasnt there a senior policeman who was investigating the slave camps found in Thailand very close to an army base have to get out of Thailand as he uncovered to much?

How many years did it take to figure that out?

next:  thai generals got wealthy on the misery of poor SLAVE LABOR immigrants

In other news, water is wet.
