Government House on alert after 6 officials test positive

Six officials in the Prime Minister’s Office at Government House have tested positive for Covid-19 after random screening of its 700 staff. The six positive results came from the first batch of 350 staff whose saliva was screened with rapid test kits. The second batch will be tested on Monday.

The six whose results came back positive have been tested again via the swab method to confirm the infection, with the results due tomorrow (December 26).

Government House has now been closed to outsiders, while all documents delivered to the building are being sterilised in a UV cabinet.

The building will be sterilised in a deep-cleaning operation on Friday. Meanwhile the press pack at Government House have been warned they face rapid tests if the situation does not improve.

Everything is under control! ????

Will be interesting to see if they can fabricate a Burmese angle on this one!

Quite simple, stop the testing.

It's worked fine for the past few months!

Its always been out there but testing has hardly been vigorous.

So, did they catch it recently or have they had it long enough to spread to friends and family.

Six people get a deadly disease and this pandemic that has killed 1.7 million people and destroyed millions of livelihoods worldwide looks like it is getting out of control in the country I live in.

Yeah, hilarious mate.

I hope they are false positives.

It seems some people on this forum want Thailand to fail as regards to covid and many other things.
Nasty.

Another one.
So you are claiming the Samut Sakon or Chiang Rai outbreak didn’t come from Burma or the Burmese workers?

Looks like they've lined up the press to blame for this one.Especially if the test is the rapid prosterior probe type.

What would be fantastic is if they were somehow found out to have frequented some Thai ladyboy whores like the ones who were working illegally in Myanmar. ????

Maybe they were moonlighting down the market in their free time... ????

Let’s hope that it isn’t the 70% more contagious UK mutated strain that has spread to Australia, Japan and the USA already.

The compounding effect of 70% more contagious is a lot worse than 70%.

We'll hit them back hard. It's already happening. Virtually every country is isolating them. Thankfully all their Asian neighbors also hate them. The isolation will likely lead to military conflict, so we need to be ready for that.

Vietnam, too. If Thailand was and it's government weren't such a basket case, Thailand could have had some massive industry moving here. They have missed the train, unfortunately. The next decade will see Vietnam overtake Thailand economically.

The Chinese didn’t deliberately catch coronavirus from animals at a meat market. But when they did they acted swiftly and effectively to limit it. They were not negligent with their handling of it and despite repeated fake claims they did actually warn that it was highly infectious. Wuhan is back to normal.

The west didn’t listen, advised their citizens not to wear masks, Trump was deliberately downplaying it which he has admitted, Boris was running around pressuring people to shake his hand in hospitals with covid. Not surprising ly they both ended up catching it.

Anutin warned the Thai people to be wary of westerners back in March as he could see that their behavior would lead it to spreading. Instead of listening to Health Minister Anutin they got in a huff because he said it. He has been proved correct unfortunately.

Now we see the UK mutated strain which is much worse. If the UK had of cracked down on covid like China and Thailand did, we most likely would not have this stronger more dangerous strain which will kill hundreds of thousands.

The Chinese eat wildlife. I think most countries do, Thailand does, Australia eats kangaroo, etc.

China has the worlds second biggest economy currently. It will be the biggest, no stopping that now. The trajectory is clear. The Chinese are not into wars like the current number one nation, they generally mind their own business. Only conflict with Hong Kong, Taiwan etc that arguably they have a case to.

That can’t be said for the current number 1, the USA, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Korea, Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq etc.

The coronavirus most likely originated in China. The inactions of the west definitely is the main cause of the spread that has got us to where we are now.

I admire your passion. Let's see how China handles global isolation. So far, many of their state companies are defaulting and insolvent. Their spy students have mostly fled western universities, so not so easy to steal now. And, the world is preparing for a military take town of China in the next decade.

Let's see how it goes ????

Once again, random testing is finding infections.

This has been the case the entire time. Thailand did not beat the virus, they just didn’t test for it and it’s not killing them that we’re aware of. Weaker strain perhaps or poorly reported deaths that didn’t get an autopsy.

Not scared. I like Vietnamese people. It would be nice to see them lift themselves up.

I just don’t believe your wishful thinking or an article from the state owned Hanoi Times that say it “may” overtake Thailand. It hasn’t really convinced me.

I am more than happy for Thailand and Vietnam to advance further. Good for them. It seems you have a problem with Thais and want Vietnam to “win” over Thailand.

And issues with Chinese people.

I have no issues with either and have Thai and Chinese friends. Nice people.

Recently leaked documents from China showing the government was lying from almost a year ago, under reporting numbers. Then, suddenly stopped counting at all. You have to be pretty gullible to believe China. I mean, everyone in the world knows the propensity to lie. Even the Chinese people know. ???? But seems you have not caught in yet?
