More than 22,000 hospital beds readied as hundreds more cases found

A total of 22,690 hospital beds have been prepared to serve Covid-19 patients nationwide, the Department of Medical Services said on Friday. Thailand recorded 279 new cases on Friday.

LONDON (Reuters) - Britain reactivated emergency hospitals built at the start of the pandemic and shut primary schools in London on Friday to counter the rapid spread of a much more infectious variant of the coronavirus.

VIENNA (Reuters) - Iran has told the United Nations nuclear watchdog it plans to enrich uranium to up to 20% purity, a level it achieved before its 2015 accord, at its Fordow site buried inside a mountain, the agency said on Friday.

Rayong opens field hospitals for COVID-19 patients as hospital overwhelmed

A local quarantine facility in Rayong has been turned into a 70-bed field hospital and preparations are under way to turn a resort and a naval base in Sattahip district of Chon Buri into field hospitals, to accommodate new COVID-19 patients, after the Rayong provincial hospital ran out of in-patient beds, said Rayong’s Governor Charnna Iamsaeng today (Friday).
