Hi,

Is it possible to change a tourist visa to a non immigrant b or o in neighbouring countries to thailand?

No you can not. But if you meet the requirements for that type of visa you can most likely obtain them at most Consulates, but your nationality may be a factor. In most cases they will be single entry only.

Edit: now see the Ireland so that nationality should not be a factor.

If you meet the relevant requirements, like a Thai wife or a job offer, or retirement

you can change your tourist visa to a Non Imm visa INSIDE Thailand.

The local immigration office will be able to help.

Thanks for the info.

Basically what i want to do is do a TEFL course but have not booked a course yet but am going to Thailand for a holiday first so i was hoping i could apply for the course over there and then get the required documents for the non imm b visa is that possible? Ill be there in a couple of weeks so dont have enough time to decide course and apply for visa here.
