webfact
Seven out of 19 arrested migrants in Bangkok test positive for Covid-19 By THE NATION Seven out of 19 illegal immigrants arrested following a tip-off have tested positive for Covid-19, a senior Bangkok administration official said. At the meeting of Bangkok’s Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration on Tuesday, Pol Lt- General Sophon Phisutthiwong, deputy governor of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), said that since the second wave of the Covid-19, BMA has urged people in Bangkok and its perimeter areas to report to the authority if they have information about illegal migrants in the communities. “Thanks to the tip-off from people, so far the authorities have arrested 19 illegal migrants and tested them,” he said. “Seven have tested positive for Covid-19, while 12 people remain in quarantine and are closely observed. After the 14-day mandatory period has passed, they will be tested again to confirm the result.” The meeting on Tuesday also urged district officials to inspect restaurants in metropolitan areas and advise dining business owners to comply with BMA rules that allow customers to eat in restaurants only until 9pm. “Restaurants need to arrange their tables in line with social-distancing practices to prevent the spread of Covid-19,” he said. “Tables must be spaced at a distance of at least 1.5 metres in case there is no barrier between them, or one metre if they have a barrier.” Source: https://www.nationthailand.com/news/30400762 -- © Copyright The Nation Thailand 2021-01-06 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates

Popular Post Phuketshrew
The xenophobia and witch hunt continues. How many Thai's have been caught and prosecuted for illegal human trafficking? Without them facilitating this there would be no illegal migrants. 9

No wonder Covid cases have shot up over the past few days... And this is just a handful oh how many others that have illegally entered the Kingdom over the past few weeks? Very worrying indeed! 'possible connivance of authorities' possible? I'm sure a lot of people would think the word is superfluous in this phrase.

I bet it is all hushed up. Since this latest outbreak of covid which started with illegals from Burma paying people to take them into Thailand, how many of these "people" have been caught? I would say none, if I am wrong, then why have there been no reports about them? Is the unelected "PM" and his generals not interested in catching them? If so, then why would that be?
