I don't think there's anything he can do that would get the remaining MAGA faithful to call for the 25th. It would just be too painful for them to admit they were wrong all along. I honestly think they would rather sit and watch the whole world go up in flames just so they could "stick it to the libs".

However, you can be sure there will be calls for the 25th amendment to be invoked but I guarantee you it will not be.

Why? Well, the cabinet and the vice-president have been specifically chosen for the fact that they are blindly loyal to Trump. This could be that they have been promoted way, way over their ability and experience level, they have been paid off, they are compromised (Trump loves to keep dirt on people) and they know they will screw themselves. Probably all of the above.

In addition, if you look at the mechanics of how the 25th amendment removes a president, the process is more cumbersome than impeachment and conviction which achieves the same goal.

So @KhunLA is absolutely right. This will never happen.

My forecast is that Trump will step aside after the 2028 election and JD Vance will pardon him and his entire family and cabinet. It can't happen before the 2028 election without screwing up Vance's or Rubio's chances. The Dems will come after him with a vengeance if they ever get back in. And he can't pardon himself pre-emptively. He'll have Vance do it.

At 80 yrs old now, I'm pretty sure Dems trying to procecute him for anything is the least of his concerns. Nothing to worry about if he does manage to squeeze more years out ...

They would still do it, if only to send a message to anyone else that was thinking about crossing them. Like they prosecuted the Jan6ers, while turning a blind eye to BLM looters and arsonists. And prosecuting all the "alternative electors", while forgetting that Gore had them, too. In fact, they're very common in contested elections. Only prosecuted when they supported Trump.
