webfact
Nabbed! Thai woman in league with Cameroon man in fake US visa scam Picture: Naew Na Immigration chief Lt-Gen Sompong Chingduang gave details of the arrest of a Thai woman in Chiang Rai at a briefing at IB HQ in Bangkok yesterday. Earlier two Thais were stopped with fake US visa stamps that they said were purchased from a "Mr Joseph" from Cameroon who had a Thai wife called Thanasinee. A search of the suspects' home in Chiang Rai found they had fled the scene. Thanasinee was later picked up on an arrest warrant issued on December 19th in Suvarnabhumi. Information was received that she was in front of a shop in Chiang Rai. Picture: Naew Na Implicated in the scam is her Cameroon husband who is now being hunted with a warrant out for his arrest. Sompong gave details of the case in front of a vinyl board that used the term for the Cameroon man as being from "the land of the witch doctors" (shamans) a term repeated in Naew Na's headline. TooBigToFit
Seems that name Joseph is quite common for Africans. I definitely have heard it before in a story like this in the past, maybe more than once.
