i have already had the new passport updated at immigration.

 

Keep your old passport just in case. There may be a time in the future when you need to check which country you were in on a particular day, or if you apply for a visa to a different country they may ask your travel history for the last x years.

 

If you have a bank account, have you updated your passport with them?

If you lose the new one still having  the old one  will make the replacement process a lot easier
