In the beginning of Jan 2021 Transferwise, when sending money to a thai bank, Transferwise warned me, something similar to this: "because of the recent changes or regulations in Thai finance system, your transfer may take longer than usual".

 

A crackdown? Where is a news, does anyone know what it reffers to?

Hi...I did a Transferwise to Thailand last week....I was not informed by Transferwise of any delay BUT I did notice the transfer took longer than usual....It did arrive the same day, about 9 hours later. In my usual experience...it only took less than 1 hour.

The system is not checking for very large amounts sent. An added sec layer to vet suspicious activity. Don't worry about it. 

Transferred last week, cited Medical Expenses", in my Thai account 12 mins later. One the one occasion I used, "for living/visa requirements", or wording to that effect, it took 2 days, during the week.
