Cock fighting arena busted in north Thailand - 40 gamblers arrested

Pol Maj-Gen Jiraphop Phuridech - in charge of matters related to illegal migrants - sent in officers to bust a cock fighting arena in the Thung Saliam police jurisdiction in the province of Sukhothai in northern Thailand on Sunday. 

 

People there were gathered illegally according to the Covid-19 restrictions and were gambling. 

 

They tried to flee but were surrounded. 

 

Forty arrests were made - 37 men and three women.

Kran Kanthawong identified himself as the owner and organizer of the gambling. 

 

Twelve items elated to gambling were taken into evidence and everyone was charged with gambling and contravening article 9 of the 2005 emergency decree. 

 

They were all taken to the Thung Saliam police station.

I don't like roosters and I too don't like cock fighting.

Allowed or not, it's crazy.

Prayut promised a crackdown on people gathering to gamble after the Rayong covid outbreak. 
 

The police are producing a lot of results all over the country. 
 

The big cockfighting that usually attracts 200+ plus carloads in Khok Kloy town every Saturday has not been held the last two Saturdays.
 

Looks like Prayut is serious on this one.
