second 90D report .. after extension

Featured Replies

we are always told your first 90D report after an extension of stay or new visa need to be in person.. before one  can do online .. how long it takes for the data to be updated in the database .. ?

You're searching for patterns in the on-line 90-day reporting system.

Based on reading hundreds of posts there are no reliable patterns.

Some people successfully file on-line after an extension, others cannot. Some people file after a new passport, others cannot.  Some people can never report online successfully.

The system is not reliable. The reasons for this unreliability remain unknown. AFAIK. Plenty of conjecture, but nothing firm I've seen.

Reporting via post, or through a 3rd party, seems like the only truly reliable 'remote' method.

ext stay
#1 90-day report OL: No (can't get past first page), filed in person
#2 90-day report OL: No (can't get past first page), filed in person
#3 90-day report OL: No (can't get past first page), filed by post

I did ~ 11-ish OL reports previously (old passport)

I've done OL reports for friends/neighbors.

When you do your first 90 day report in person it is entered into the system at the local office as soon as you do the report.

The reason you have to do your first report in person is that your local office would not have a record of you ever doing a 90 day report to them. That would result in a online report not being approved by them.

When filing online use Chrome or Firefox browsers. Other browsers can be problematic.

Meh.

That used to be an issue ages ago.

AFAIK, the browser is not the issue with making it past page 1.

What do you consider to be page. 1. The first data entry page or the former page to agree to terms & conditions. To get past "terms & conditions" scroll right to the very bottom, tick the check box......forward to data entry.

The first page of the application.

I have the opposite issue.

My 1st 90 day report after extension online worked, the 2nd & 3rd have both failed?

July 2020 ext/renewal

Aug 2020 90/day online okay

Nov 2020 90 day Failed
Feb 2021 90 day Failed

What month and day did you previous extension end?

If after the report that is why it was okay and the next failed. The system apparently checks the date you entered on your previous online report.

How soon before the date your report is due can you actually go in person and make your report ?

Wrong info.

You can do a report in person up to 15 days early or 7 days after the report date.

July 15th 2020 visa renewal

Aug 20th was 1st 90 day report, done online without problem [entered on 15th]

November 18th 2020 and Feb 15th 2021 both failed to go past page 1

[each time I try to do starting 10-12  days prior to expiry]
