Only because it is a Ponzi scheme. Crypto is like a religion, belief in something that can't be seen. Outside a computer screen, it's nothing. Gold and silver are real. They have industrial applications. The computer screen or smartphone you look at to track bitcoin contains gold and silver, as does 99% of them worldwide. Governments don't like fungibles beyond their control. Why do you think the US government banned Americans from owning gold bullion for 40 years? -
