Although Prime Minister Hun Sen has said that he would receive the first shot of China’s Sinopharm vaccine once the first batch of doses arrived in Cambodia, it is actually Defense Minister Tea Banh who has been known as the first person from Cambodia to have been vaccinated.

 

This has been revealed by Prime Minister Hun Sen in a post on his official Facebook page today, just one day after he confirmed tha 600,000 doses of Sinopharm’s COVID-19 vaccine, the first batch of one million doses promised to Cambodia by China, will arrive on Sunday this week.

 

“At 8:30 am on February 10, 2021 (Wednesday next week), the vaccination process will officially begin at Calmete Hospital, and I will get the first shot, followed by other senior official except Samdech Pichey Sena Tea Banh, who has already been vaccinated.”
