Converting to Non-o Visa

Featured Replies

Is it a conversion or just applying for a new Visa type for the non-o?

Does it have to be done in Bangkok or can it be done at Jomtien immigration?

On a side note , why are people concerned about moving 800K Baht to Thailand? I've heard people say it's hard to get the money out of Thailand if you decide to leave. Isn't it just another bank transfer??

If you have a tourist visa entry it is change of visa status. If visa exempt it is a visa application.

It can be done at any immigration office.

Not that hard to transfer it out of Thailand if you have proof it was transferred into Thailand.

Requirements are here but they can vary dependent upon the office you apply at.

As always you are a great help ubonjoe, thank you. I'm on a tourist visa.

Am I reading the requirements correctly that I need proof of funds before I can get the non-o? This might be a problem as I haven't transferred the money yet, I was hoping to have the 90 days of the non-o Visa to season the money in my Thai account.

You will need the 800k on day of application for your non O. You then have 90 day permission of stay. Have the money in Thai bank in your name only for 2 months and you can apply for 12 month extension.

Note for the non O you need show money came from o/s.

That is the requirement. The 800k baht only has bo be in the bank on the day your apply for the non-o visa but you do need proof it was transferred from abroad.

If you need more time to transfer the funds you can apply while on the 30 day extension of your tourist visa entry or a 60 day covid 19 extension.
