Hello to all,

im planning to go to Thailand in the end of April to visit my wife. My plan is to ask for a single entry non immigrant O visa with the Thai embassy in my home country. Then once in Thailand convert to a marriage visa. When I request for my non immigrant O visa with my local embassy, should I already have proof of a one year Corona insurance or is 3 months cover enough for now? If I only have 3 months Corona insurance will it, once in Thailand, be a problem if I want to extend my stay with a marriage visa or how does it work exactly?

Thank you in advance for your answer(s), have a great day.

Ninety days of covid insurance will be all you need.

Immigration does not ask for it when applying for a extension of stay (it is not a visa) based upon marriage.

Just a question please. So also for a Non Immigrant O VISA, you´ll need covid-19-insurance??

I thought it was just in play when I applied for a Non Immigrant O-A?? Sorry if this has been asked before!!!

The $100,000 covid 19 insurance is required for all entries to the country.

The only difference is the number of days that is required dependent upon the allowed permit to stay you get when you enter the country.

If you arrive on a non 0 (90 days) and you only wish to stay for 60, how much insurance do you need? 60 or 90 days?

You would need the 100.000 US $ covid-19 insurance for a period of at least 90 days in such case, as the insurance needs to fully cover the permission to stay you will receive when entering Thailand.
