Earthquake

Featured Replies

At 21:36 I felt a minor earthquake. It only lasted for a second but I could definitely feel it and the class of water sitting on the table was splashing. I was wondering if anyone else felt it? It hasn't showed up on the usgs website but it may later.

I would be interesting to know where in Chiang Rai you live, in case it happens to be in the middle of Highway no 1.

The Thai meteorological department has listed a magnitute 5.1 Earthquake occurring at 21:35, 97 kilometers distant from Chiang Rai on the Lao-Burmese border. Here's the link:

It's the quake listed on the 15th but the location (lao-burmese border 97 km distant from Chiangrai) is written in Thai

Now I just felt another one at 15:57. This one was much stronger and much longer. I know some of you felt that one.

Several of my co-workers felt the one last night.

I felt the one just before 4pm. It was long, at least 5 seconds because I looked out the window, then ran out on the balcony and it was still going on.

It was an earthquake in northeast Laos, epicentrum just 122 km from Chiang Rai. 6.1 on Richterscale.

There was a small one maybe 5 minutes after. Just an aftershock(shake).

:o:D:D

edit: should be 110 km NE of Chiang Rai

Yep, here's a site with the above info if someone's interested:
