Prime Minister Hun Sen has decided to allow three days off for this year’s Khmer New Year celebrations after last year’s holidays were cancelled over the pandemic. In a directive issued yesterday, Mr Hun Sen said the days off would be from April 14 to April 16 but urged everyone to follow the Health Ministry’s health measures to prevent and contain the COVID-19 outbreak.

He said all staff and employees of state institutions are allowed to take three days off as mentioned on the calendar of public holidays.

He said for private sector employees, the three-day holiday can be given in two ways, depending on the agreement between the employers and the employees of each company in accordance with the sub-decree dated August 26, 2020, on the calendar of holidays for civil servants, employees and workers for 2021.
