The latest poll conducted in Thailand by Suan Dusit University showed that Thais clearly blame refugees for bringing in Covid-19 and taking their jobs.

But the government were to blame with calls to root out corrupt officials and shore up the borders a priority.

The poll asked 1,167 people from March 22nd to 25th about refugees coming into Thailand though Daily News took this to mean illegal migrant workers.

Asked about whether accepting refugees was good or bad 64% of Thais went for bad, 29% good and bad and only 6% good.

Asked their various opinions about refugees coming in to the country 67% said they brought diseases, 62% said they took Thai jobs and 59% said they were looking for a better life.

Why they came produced the following with 69% saying they'd get more money, 67% it would be easier to make a living and 63% said they would enjoy a better lifestyle.

Bad points from letting in refugees: 81% said it would mean more Covid-19 infections, 74% more law breaking and 68% that it was caused by officialdom.

Regarding what the government should do 75% said step up scrutiny of state officials, 72% put in a long term plan and 65% shore up the borders.

I guess locking them up in barbed wire facilities and posting pictures of them on the media and complete testing of migrants and not their own populace  has not helped either with this poll.

Root out corrupt officials, ha, ha, if they did that who would be left to run things here?

Simple answer.... No one.

Don't worry prayut has already prepared "an area" for them.

Sounds innocuous enough, wonder if it means an internment camp. Human rights, will of course, be observed.
