Makoshark
As I prepare to embark to the USA end of year, am I allowed to bring these gift items with me. - 3 wood Ashtrays and 2 wood antique dancers? i bought them at Chatuchak and do have papers. I am sure it's cost prohibitive to ship! Best advice appreciated
CharlieH
Depends on thd wood and treatment used on it. If you dont have the correct paperwork for it you risk having them removed for treatment/fumigation and costs attached to that, or simply destroyed. Lomsakboy
Forbidden wood such as Teak wood, Paduak wood need export permit and you need to paid export taxes. Forbidden wood timber/sheet not allow to export, only furniture/ statues/ images etc. can get export permit. Not forbidden wood such as mango wood, tamarind wood, no need export permit and no tax. Phayung Wood (Siamese Rosewood) not allowed export. Export taxes can be high as 40% + Vat7% of value.
