BangkokAlan
Does anyone know if an Irish driving license can be accepted for conversion to a Thai license? Or must you take a new driving test?
CharlieH
Take a test as we all do. If you can call it a "test".

johng
As long as your licence is valid, written in English, has a photo on it and is valid for the category of vehicle you want to drive(car or motorbike) they should allow you to convert to a Thai license just by doing the simple eyesight and reaction tests and presenting a medical certificate, no need to do the theory and practical tests.

Much simpler procedure at our DLT now. As above posted by " johng" correct. If OP's Irish DL is in English his good to go to the local DLT. No need to take photos they take them at the DLT and you get 2 year DL the first time now.
