Nopphaporn Wuthikul - otherwise known as Mayor Nui, candidate number 3 - was reelected after mayoral and municipal elections in Hua Hin at the weekend.

He represented the Hua Hin Palang Mai group and garnered 11,998 votes.

In second was candidate #1 Than Orsuwan who got 10,716 votes and in third was #2 Udon Orlasan with 1,833 votes.

There were 44,994 registered voters of whom 26,867 voted - a turnout of 59.71%.

There were more than 1300 spoiled or incomplete ballots, reported Siam Rath.

Nui thanked voters for choosing him and promised to continue work in Phase 2 of improving public water utilities.

One disappointing point for the mayor was that five members of his team were not reelected.
