More than 700 bombs captured in central Thailand

Thai police on Thursday afternoon captured more than 700 sets of powerful bombs at a residence in central province of Saraburi which is only 100 kilometers from the capital Bangkok.

A squad of policemen raided the house in Muang district of Saraburi on Thursday afternoon after got clues from informants. A total of 700 sets of Power Gel explosive were found in the house, a police officer told Xinhua.

The owner of the explosive was also detained by the police and was rushed to Bangkok for investigation.

The officer said the power of all the explosive could blow down a whole mountain.

Three Thai workers were arrested today for illegally possessing 1700 small bombs and a large quantity of fertiliser, police said.

Police searching a cement company warehouse in Saraburi, 107km north of Bangkok an anonymous tip-off, found 600kg of explosive materials.

The company kept the materials without state permission, police said, but legally owned 5000kg of explosives.

First, with the chinese news, I thought they were confusing with the tuesday incident.

But then with a search on "Saraburi", the AFP news came out. But it's like 2 differents events happened, and the figures are differents...

Right now, no other details with other medias. Strange.

Saraburi _ Crime Suppression Division police seized 1,700 bars of powergel explosives and detained three people in a raid on a cement company in Chalerm Prakiat district yesterday. The raid followed close on the heels of the seizure on Tuesday of a small amount of powergel in a room in Bang Phlat district of Bangkok rented by the nephew of an anti-Thaksin activist.

In yesterday's raid, police also found 101 detonators, and 24 packs of ammonium nitrate fertiliser.
