"Grey" (?) Water Tank Issue

Recommended Posts

Hello, my wife and I have recently purchased a home in a residential area and have found we have an issue with a waste water tank. It appears it needs to be replaced, however we are struggling with finding someone to replace the tank. Does anyone know what type of water tank is depicted in the picture? I believe water from our shower, bathroom sink and washer may drain into it, however I'm not sure. My wife has called construction companies in our area, but currently everyone says they are busy and the companies in Bangkok want 20THB p/kilometer just to come take a look. We live in Kanchanaburi. Any information on what this tank is for or someone who can replace the tank in our area is appreciated! Cheers!!!

That's a septic tank, full of poop.

Grey water is just allowed to drain off (urine and poopy water).

Your shower, sink and dishwasher shouldn't be connected to it.

It should also be full of "water", if it's been left empty the ground pressure will have crushed it, hence the cracking ????

Yup it needs digging out and replacing I'm afraid.

Crossy,

Thank you. Yes, it has been left empty, and it does appear to have collapsed. My wife continues to tell me it is a grease trap and that processes grey water and not a septic. HomePro has come out to take a look at it, but will have to contract it out. All the local Thai companies other than my HomePro either don't know what it is or don't want to work on it. I will wait for the estimate from HomePro for the replacement cost. Cheers!

Our two being delivered and installed. One tank does the downstairs toilet the other the two upstairs toilets.

Grey (shower etc.) water does NOT go into these tanks just the "black" water from the toilets.
