Thailand entering third wave of COVID-19 infections – Dr. Thiravat Hemachudha

Thailand is entering the third wave of COVID-19 infections, with the disease spreading widely and most of those infected asymptomatic. By the time symptoms start, they will become very sick and have to be admitted for treatment, according to Professor Dr. Thiravat Hemachudha, head of the Center for Emerging Disease Health Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University in his Facebook post today.

COVID concerns raised over Phuket beach party guest

PHUKET:-- A beach party organiser has issued a notice urging all guests at three parties held in Phuket last weekend to monitor their condition now that it has been confirmed that one guest who attended all three parties in Phuket has now been confirmed as positive for COVID-19.

Thailand’s transport minister enters self-isolation after staff member gets COVID-19

Transport Minister Saksayam Chidchob has voluntarily begun self-isolation for 14 days, after one of his staff, who visited an entertainment venue in the Thonglor area, was found to be infected with COVID-19.

March inflation shrinks after govt financial aid

Sony Pictures to set up Columbia Pictures-themed amusement park in Thailand

PM Prayut to attend opening of motorway linking Bang Pa-in and Nakhon Ratchasima

BANGKOK (NNT) - Prime Minister and Defense Minister, Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha, will inspect the readiness of a section of a motorway linking Bang Pa-in district in Ayutthaya province and Nakhon Ratchasima province today (Apr 7), with increased interprovincial travel expected during the Songkran holiday. The Department of Highways has reported that all costs related to land expropriation have been paid, with exception of a few people who filed an appeal.

Bangkok entertainment worker confirmed COVID positive in Phuket

PHUKET: A 29-year-old woman who worked at an entertainment venue in Bangkok that now has confirmed cases of COVID infections has traveled to Phuket and has since been confirmed by a private hospital on the island as infected with COVID-19.

Mass vaccination program starts in June

BANGKOK (NNT) - The number of COVID-19 vaccine shots available for the general public is still limited. The first group to receive the vaccine includes medical personnel, people working in risk areas, the elderly and people with underlying diseases. Members of the public will begin to receive the vaccine in June.

BANGKOK (NNT) - Prime Minister and Defense Minister, Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha, has asked for cooperation from all sectors to strictly follow the anti-COVID-19 measures of DMHTT - distancing (D), mask wearing (M), hand washing (H), testing (T) and Thai Chana (T). Although most people are cooperative, there are some who let their guard down or refuse to cooperate, and this is a dangerous time.
