Traditional Songkran events held with COVID-19 measures

PHUKET (NNT) - People across the country are now celebrating the Songkran Festival or Thai New Year, but with no parties or water battles. Temples and communities in many provinces today held traditional Songkran celebrations under strict measures intended to contain the spread of COVID-19.

Bang Bon field hospital opens to accept first 10 COVID-19 patients

The field hospital in Bangkok’s Bang Bon district received its first group of 10 COVID-19 patients today (Tuesday). Dr. Sooksant Kittisupakorn, director of the medical services office of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), said that the admittance of the 10 patients into the field hospital, located at the Chalerm Phra Kiat Stadium, will enable assessment of the performance by the medical team, before more patients arrive.

Access to Kaeng Krachan national park tightened after COVID-19 scare

Tighter control of access to and from Thailand’s Kaeng Krachan national park, in Phetchaburi province, has been imposed since Monday after a person, who visited the park between April 2nd and 5th, tested positive for COVID-19.
