PHUKET: Phuket officials have yet to make any public recognition of the possibility of lockdowns on the island as the number of confirmed COVID-19 infections rose to 335 over the weekend, with 264 people under medical care.

Don't panic, the island will open up in July

Good that they silent. It's like a half lockdown already because of little  numbers only. Panic mongers. Declare Phuket orange zone!

Not a chance.

There is every chance

Only a couple of weeks or so ago people were saying there would be no travel allowed for Songkran.

I am getting the feeling that the Country is pretty close to being Cashless, and money is needed however it is obtained.

Every chance of opening and every chance of a very quick u-turn seems to be how it works !

Optimism of a biblical scale...

22 is nothing, soon go down to single figures, then they stop testing ( !?), and of course we have zero again like before... (a few Covid cases are always around in the country and in Phuket, but no testing means no infection found...!)

Then happy times again, open discos, big parties, open everything..., then come another surge, then we go around the marry-go-around....!!! And never learn...☹️

All the authorities do here is pretty much useless, in Thailand the basic prevention methods of "wear mask/hand wash/temperature check" works very well, the problem is super spreader events, like boxing matches, big markets, big parties/discos, hundreds go to get vaccinated in one place, etc. , basically large gatherings, but they never learn and never stop these when no surge, the only think they need to do but fail ...!!! ????

335 cases in April equates to about 2-3 deaths...hardly reason for panic. If worldwide protocols were being followed, about 12 people would be hospitalized (3.5%).
