May 3, 20215 yr By Woraprat Lerpaisal BANGKOK (NNT) - The Department of Special Investigation (DSI) has set up a center to investigate fake news, which could hamper the government’s efforts in containing the Covid-19 pandemic. DSI director-general Korawat Panprapakorn said the task force, which is in line with the policy of the Justice Minister, will also support the DSI in its investigations allowed under DSI law. He said fake news has been spreading throughout the Covid-19 crisis, ranging from the promotion of herbs as a cure to drug recommendations by senior doctors. Mr Korawat said the anti-fake news center will investigate attempts to spread false news to mislead the public about the Covid-19 situation with a focus on online platforms before submitting reports to the Justice Ministry and those up in the chain of command. -- © Copyright NNT 2021-05-03 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates

May 3, 20215 yr Popular Post since november 2019 (just before covid) the special government anti-fake department was formed, with some 1.5k workers (as I remember). selling herbs to boost immune system and such or advising public on medicines by professional doctors has nothing to do with wrong news. The government agencies don't have the right to teach public what supplements to take and can't reprimand doctors for their work. DSI is a police department. Nothing to do with health and medicine. So far all those anti-fake agencies and initiatives are no more than a form of censorship public opinion. They will be more than happy to run after opposition politicians, street protesters and any form of discontent on social media. Their only goal is to protect the government official line, and not the law. There were numerous times (more like hundreds and thousands), when top officials were telling outright lies, spreading disinformation on purpose. Such as giving unconfirmed info. Changing important policies within hours. Deleting their social media posts when confronted by public. They were never investigated. They will be never punished. Because they are outside law. Even the very same guy talks to the press, directly into their microphones, without mask and even face cover. How much he knows about regulations? Edited May 3, 20215 yr by internationalism

May 3, 20215 yr Popular Post Quote He said fake news has been spreading throughout the Covid-19 crisis, ranging from the promotion of herbs as a cure to drug recommendations by senior doctors. here is someone they can investigate: Quote The Minister of Public Health has pointed out daily COVID-19 infection rates have begun to stagnate and the situation should begin to normalize in 2-3 weeks while calling on hospitals to bolster protection by dispensing Creat and assuring patients that two million Favipiravir pills are available with more to be ordered. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Health Anutin Chanvirakul, speaking at a ceremony to provide 600,000 Creat capsules to hospitals, stated that the herbal remedy is part of a national registry of treatments made known to hospitals, which are able to prescribe the herb as an alternative remedy for those with COVID-19, noting data will be collected on its use to verify common perceptions of its efficacy.

May 3, 20215 yr Popular Post You can start with this article from the Nation. It is bunk. Any Google search, even on Astra Zenica's own site, will show that this information is inaccurate at best, downright dangerous at worst. Even both shots of AZ does not result in this level of immunity. https://www.nationthailand.com/life/40000492
May 3, 20215 yr Popular Post You can't make this stuff up, can you? Must be a fake Justice Minister spreading fake news.

May 4, 20215 yr I they are serious about fake news, I can suggest 3-4 things they can address. 1) there is such a thing as an international driving license. 2) you can extend a visa inside Thailand 3) you cannot travel or use a pink ID outside of the issuing province. 4) Young Thai girls find me attractive
May 4, 20215 yr This will give them further power to shut down dissenting voices. Meanwhile 'good people' that like to frequent high-end sex clubs in Thong Lor and have parties and gatherings won't have to explain their motives, movements or face any repercussions.
