Eight measures are being rolled out to deal with the spread of COVID-19 in the densely populated Khlong Toey community in Bangkok, which houses about 80,000 registered people and an unknown number of unregistered dwellers.

In his Facebook post Tuesday, Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha detailed the following measures:

● Pro-active screening in 39 communities, with top priority given to 20 communities where infections have been detected. At least 20,000 are to be tested, with a minimum of 1,000 per day, to be conducted by a mobile labs.

● Those tested positive will be separated from their communities and grouped into green, yellow and red categories, according to the severity of the symptoms. Then they will be sent to the pre-admission centre at Nimitbutr stadium, or to the holding centre at Saphan Temple or to the field hospital in Samut Sakhon province.

● Those in the red category, or the severe cases, will be immediately sent to a general hospital operated by the BMA. A new field hospital, equipped with an ICU and 432 beds, has been set up at Chalerm Phrakiat Hospital in Thung Khru.

One of the funniest pictures ever taken in this pandemic.

Two people sat 2mtr apart, then look at the looney tunes all bunched up in the background lol.

Absolutely rediculous

What about the novel approach of one measure a vaccine instead of busing around a load of infected people to god knows where????

Lost the plot the lot of them they have.. grasping straws now...

All these measures where one injection would have prevented everything... time to go Mr Prayut.

You are solely responsible for the debacle we are in now.

20,000 tests over a period of 20 Days ( min )

That is 20,000 from a Community population of 90,000, a really amateurish gesture in testing me thinks.

In 20 Days the infection outbreak will be all over BKK. This Gov,t have no idea about containing this Covid situation, or is it that the poor from the Slums of Klong Toey are collateral damage.

The Ninth measure is that CP Group are to Vaccinate 1000 people a day within the Klong Toey Communities over the next 2 -3 weeks.

They say it is to assist the Government in Vaccination of the people.

Huge question here

Where have they obtained all these Vaccines, or should the report in BP have read, " CCP  to Vaccinate 1000people a day ".

Its not enough.....  I applaud the PM for making an appearance and executing a plan.

Unfortunately....its too little, to late.

The Heslth Ministry should say we made a mistake by not accepting the terms for the conditional purchase plans of the vaccines being offered by USA and the UK in the early part of the year.

Now, the people will suffer, the poor who are sick are coming out for food and medical services that are non existant.  They ard communicating the disease to others.....

Klong Toei Slums are a perfect example.

I would like to thank the all generous Czar for allowing his worshippers to go home at Songkran and spread the virus near and far & for the truly outstanding vaccine rollout.

Caution statement may contain traces of sarcasm. ????
