Renew Retirement Visa

Featured Replies

Sorry people, i have studied pages and pages here but cant find the answer,

Uk Citizen with 1 yr non o visa, Retired.

My 1st 1 year is due to run out in early October this year, around the 6th, I want to go back to UK for mothers birthday on 20th oct, asuming all is ok with a Thai Bank acc showing 800k+ in a static acc and no letter from the embassy about pension ect, and getting a 1 yr renewal, do i apply at the same time to leave Thai a week or so later, perhaps showing Plane tickets?

Also my GF and her daughter are coming with me to UK, can they get a visitors visa at the same office, same day? Gf has been to UK before, or is that UK Embassy only job? how long would i have to apply in advance for there visas please?

Thanks for advice and help, Lickey.

You normally renew a retirement extension of stay about 3 weeks before it expires so you have no problem there. You will get the new extension the same day or the next depending where done. You should do that mid September. Once you have the new extension of stay you need to obtain a re-entry permit so that your travel will not end your extension of stay (better to do at same time so no chance of forgetting or not having time).

Your second question you should make a new post in the other visa forum (other countries) for best advise. You have to obtain a UK visa from the UK Embassy or one of there agents (they have some kind of farm out system in use). Check the UK Embassy web site as it is quite comprehensive.
