    It's really hard to get good wood for cheap price around here. To the extend that there are companies that are breaking pallets and selling this wood for DIY projects/furniture. (1 meter of pallet wood soaked in chemicals and mouse piiss goes for around 20 baht) So I can imagine getting wood for roof would be pretty expensive and hard.

     

    Also there are these termites, which is a big problem.
