SURVEY: Are you happy living in Thailand?

 

There was a recent survey that indicated Thailand was the 14th best place to live and that the vast majority of expats were satisfied with living in Thailand.  The countries which were higher on the survey were: Taiwan topped the list, followed by Mexico, Costa Rica, Malaysia, Portugal, New Zealand, Australia, Ecuador, Canada, and Vietnam.

Thailand finds first local cases of South African COVID-19 variant, scientists say

 

 

(Reuters) - Thailand has detected the first local cases of the coronavirus variant discovered in South Africa, a group of scientists said on Saturday, saying the finding should prompt vaccination efforts to be ramped up.

Former PM Yingluck says junta has failed Thais on 7th anniversary of coup

 

 

Ousted fugitive former Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra wrote on her Facebook page today (Saturday) saying it was bitter and hurtful to see the Thai people failed by the junta led government, seven years after the military backed National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) took power.

Authorities Extend Closure of Schools in Bangkok and 3 other Provinces

 

 

 

BANGKOK (NNT) - The Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) has extended the closure of schools in Bangkok, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani and Samut Prakan to control COVID-19. The Education Ministry plans to start the new school term on June 14th.

Alternative State Quarantine Hotels Provide Extra Beds for Mild COVID-19 Cases

Suspect in luxury mansion shooting of two Thai police remains in custody at prison, six other associated foreigners visas canceled

 

 

The main suspect in a luxury mansion shooting in Pattaya last week where two police officers who were part of a team serving a search warrant were shot remains in custody at a prison in Banglamung. Meanwhile, the visas of six other foreigners residing or associated with the mansion have been canceled according to Region 2 Police officers.

Chonburi- The Chonburi Department of Public Health announced 91 new and confirmed cases of Covid-19 this morning, driven by clusters at industrial estates and factories in Mueang Chonburi with many workers who live in Phan Thong.
