    Bridle snake. Interesting. Lived here nearly 2 decades and neither the wife or I have seen one before.

    It's a nocturnal snake which could be the reason why you have never seen one before.

    It's a Smashed-Head snake.  Completely harmless.

    I think you are right, that and it's such a small snake.
