May 24, 200719 yr Hi everyone, I am currently holding a multiple entry O visa good for a 15 month stay. I have to exit the country however every 3 months. Im married to a Thai and am staying here most of the time. Does anyone know what my chances will be of getting it renewed for the next year? I'm not a work permit holder and was wondering if being married is good enough to get my 1 year visa every year.
May 24, 200719 yr Provided you can demonstrate 40,000 Baht per month income (offshore is ok) then you can extend for a year at a time by visiting immigration. There's a bunch of easy documentation required, try a forum search "I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"
May 24, 200719 yr If you do not have the income to extend the multi entry visa is currently available on a sometimes yes and sometimes no basis at KL and if you have 400k in a bank account it is available in Singapore. Most other Consulates will only issue a single entry and expect you to extend your stay at Immigration with the 40k family income method.
May 24, 200719 yr ...multiple entry O visa...every year... The best place to get a multiple-entry non-O visa to visit family is an honorary Thai consulate in your home country. In the region, one consulate after another is refusing multiple-entry visas. As of latest reports, only Kuala Lumpur and Singapore still issued them, the latter requiring evidence of minimum 400,000 Baht in a bank account. -------------- Maestro The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place
May 24, 200719 yr For those heading for Singapore for multiple entry non-O, be prepared to show the most updated bank passbook or bank statement with min 400k baht. Even the last monthly bank statement when you apply this month is not good enough for the gal there. So either have your passbook update before going to Singapore or bring the statement shows balance dated within last few day. If not they are only going to issue you single entry Non-O and ask you to apply for extension in BKK.
May 24, 200719 yr Author ok guys, thanks for the reply. Im from Singapore so I think I will be doing the extension in my home country. If a 400k balance is all they need, I think more or less there sholud not be much problem.
