Featured Replies

UK Minister of Foreign Affairs and Development has promised to send a team of experts to Cambodia to study needs for improvement in the environment and natural resources, including the possibility of purchasing carbon credits. Minister of Environment Say Samal met with British minister Dominic Raab yesterday.

Raab praised the development process that Cambodia has achieved and mentioned that the United Kingdom can help Cambodia do more to continue to grow. He said that UK and Cambodia have shared good cooperation, friendship and partnership for the past 30 years since the United Kingdom reopened its embassy.

Ministry of Environment spokesman Neth Pheaktra said that during the talks,  both ministers highlighted the cooperation between the two countries as friends and partners. A number of topics related to the environment were discussed, such as the fight against climate change and Cambodia’s participation in the COP26 meeting on climate change, the conservation of natural resources, biodiversity, cross-border wildlife trade and the use of renewable energy.
