How to check your employer is making your Tax Payments?

Featured Replies

It is quite easy to check your social security payment record online using the SSO.go.th website, is there a similar way to check your Tax record online, like there is for SSO?

With the economy the way it is and with companies likely to go bust, I have some concerns about a friend that uses an acquaintances Thai company to receive his foreign salary payment (less a generous commission for their trouble), who in turn arrange the work permit and deals with Tax/SSO payments etc.

The tax is a very high amount like 70-100K THB per month.

We are concerned that the company may not be passing on the income tax component of his salary to The Revenue Department, because the SSO payments are beginning to appear as overdue according to the SSO website (even in consideration of the recent "covid relief" payment deadline extension).

The company is unresponsive when asked about the matter, however he does not want to push the issue at this stage for fear of causing offence and there may be a simple explanation for the overdue SSO.

He prefers not to contact the tax department directly because it could start a chain reaction and cause trouble for the company with the Revenue Department, after-all if they suspect that tax money is being misappropriated the Revenue Department may want to investigate and potentially prosecute. Nobody innocently deserves the attention of the tax authorities when they are as hungry as they are now.

Any advice on a face-saving way to check your tax payments are being made (without waiting for the 50 tawi certificate next year)?

Cheers
