Daily News reported that an angry crowd of dozens of deceived customers were waiting at Bang Yai police station in Nonthaburi after the cops hauled in a fraudster.

Nichaphon, 33, had been arrested in Rangsit on a Nonthaburi warrant issued on July 15th for fraud.

He had gone on Facebook to advertise AirPods (wireless bluetooth earbuds) for 5,500 baht well below the market price of 8,900 baht.

Many believed him but after taking the orders and receiving the money he didn't supply any products.

When police arrested him he claimed that because of the pandemic he hadn't got the AirPods from his supplier.

The special task force cuffed him and took him away not giving any credence to this apparent nonsense.

Losses are thought to be in the region of 10 million baht.

The victims were waiting for his arrival in Bang Yai with many giving him a tongue lashing before the police hurried him inside, said Daily News quoting sources.

never buy on FB unless you have the product in your hand before paying

The Special Task Force.???? What a waste of resources and taxpayers' money.

"not giving any credence to this apparent nonsense. " So much for innocent until proven guilty!

Instead of AirPods these 'victims' people should try SennaPods and get a good run for their money.

I SAW that Facebook ad and thought "This is too good to be true." So should have every person who made the purchase.

Selling at 5,500 baht a piece that's a lot of unhappy people.

10 million at 5000 bht a time ! ????

Anyone want a chocolate teapot I have for sale ?

The cop second from the right, is clearly a trainee who has not yet had the 'how to point properly' lecture.

10,000 baht... at 5,500 per set...

Is anyone else thinking these numbers are a little excessive - nearly 1900 people bought them ? seems a stretch.

If a guy walks up to you on the street and tell you: Hey, I can get this product for half the price. Pay now and I will send it to you tomorrow.

Would you give him any money? Of course not.

But on facebook? Sure, ...

Idiots!

Agree 100%. And again when a deal is too good to be true, well, it is too good to be true.

At the beginning of COVID-19 here in Thailand Facebook was the only place our family could get masks or Alcohol gel. 900 baht for lousy Chinese masks and about the same for sanitizer.

And to think that Anutin is still in charge of the Health Ministry makes me upset.

Yes too true, be wary, just got a product, on opening it it was damaged, to late, no refund if removed from packaging !!! chat with store response, and uploaded photo. The only answer was 'sorry'.
