Thailand’s Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plants Conservation has been instructed, by Natural Resources and Environment Minister Varawut Silpa-archa, to withhold an order to close down all national parks from August 1st until September 30th.

Mr. Varawut’s instruction came after his office received a complaint from Mrs. Sarintip Tapmongkolsap, president of the Koh Samet Tourism Association, claiming that the department’s order to close the Khao Laemya and Koh Samet national park for two months will affect a lot of people, including about 900 families living on the resort island, who depend on tourism for their livelihoods.

The minister has offered an apology and thanked the complainant for bringing the issue to his attention, adding that he has instructed Mr. Tanya Netithammakul, director-general of the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plants Conservation, to suspend the closures until the COVID-19 pandemic situation improves.

And yet the Parks are closed, and no one can travel interprovincially from  Dark red zone which will be increasing in numbers as the cases rise..  How does this make any sense as how many can travel to Kho Samet......

they can take visitors within their province.

So if somebody from Rayong wants to escape covid infected household/neighbourhood or wants to quarantine/separate away from family, has a chance to do so.

Inter provincial travel ban is purely theoretical, people report travelling all over the country without any/minimal checks

there is inter province ban for everybody.

No there isn't!  People travel freely from Khon Kaen to Bangkok and back with no checks, Khon Kaen to Mahasarakham, no checks, Khon Kaen to Chaiyaphum, no checks!  No sign of ban or road blocks anywhere!

well, there is a ban for travel from the more infected provinces to less infected once. That is for over 3.5 months now, started just before songkran.

From 10.7 it's all country. Till 2.8, but most likely be extended for long or unspecified time.

I did write already, before you did: "Inter provincial travel ban is purely theoretical, people report travelling all over the country without any/minimal checks"
