Thailand’s economic recovery looks set to be delayed further, with many research houses revising down their growth forecasts for this year. The economy contracted 6.1 percent last year amid the fallout of the COVID-19 crisis and lockdowns.

Earlier this year, many economists were optimistic that it would expand by 2 percent or higher in 2021. However, following the third wave of infections that emerged in April, they have changed their forecasts.

and here they say that the exports will be greater and that all is well...

Who was it only yesterday stated that exports would rise higher than predicted ?

Looking at the number of closed shops my guess is minus at least 10%.  If I am off it is because I am too optimistic.

Do you expect to ever get the truth from this party?

Correction: not the virus surge kills chance, but suspension of economic activities kills chance.

but it will be all over in a couple of weeks remember thats what they said   and exports going up some one isnt telling the truth but what else can you expect from this mob and the reserves will keep them afloat but some how o dont believe anthing they say thailands going to be in for a rough ride

It would have to be negative again this year 40 million people not spending money here.  If it goes on much longer, I guess it could be considered an economic depression.  But, unfortunately it seems for many mental depression has/is becoming a big problem.

Closing country early killed recovery chances

It's not not only the Chinese Virus surge but the Government killing the economy.
