Bang Sue CVC to stop accepting walk-ins from Sunday Aug 1

BANGKOK (NNT) - The Central Vaccination Center at Bang Sue Grand Station will suspend the walk-in vaccination service from Sunday (Aug 1) as the massive turnout makes social distancing difficult to manage. Services will continue however, for people with appointments.

 

Today (Saturday) the Central Vaccination Center (CVC) at Bang Sue Grand Station in Bangkok was crowded with people arriving in the morning expecting to walk in for their COVID-19 shots, but making it hard work for staff members managing the queue, who need to ensure minimal time is taken at each step of the process.

 

Other staff members and volunteers are on site to provide guidance on what to do before getting vaccinated.

 

With elders, wheelchair users, and accompanying persons directed into a separate line, the flow of the overall process today was mostly smooth. Some of the walk-in vaccine recipients said they were worried at first by the pictures of long lines of people at the venue, but the actual queuing today was quite quick and well managed.

 

Now however, the walk-in vaccination service at Bang Sue CVC will be suspended as of tomorrow. The center will continue to offer COVID-19 jabs to the general public aged 18 years and above, as well as people with any of seven chronic underlying illnesses. The jabs will be provided by appointment only, with around 20,000 shots on average expected to be given each day.
